Company Names Jim McLoughlin VP of Sales to Support Strong Growth, Take Advantage of Market Opportunities for Java Platform as a Service
BOSTON, MA. — June 2, 2011 — CloudBees, the Java PaaS innovation leader, today announced the appointment of Jim McLoughlin as Vice President of Sales. McLoughlin brings more than 25 years of sales experience in enterprise software and will oversee CloudBees’ global sales operations as the company continues its aggressive growth in the nascent Platform as a Service (PaaS) market.
Previously, McLoughlin served as Senior VP of Sales at Appirio, a leading cloud solutions provider, where he established a highly productive sales process that led the company to four consecutive “best ever” quarters. Prior to that, he served as VP of Sales for EMEA, Americas and India at Borland; VP of Sales and Managing Director at PeopleSoft; and VP of Sales and General Manager at JD Edwards, where he helped the company grow from $100M revenue to more than $1.1B.
“Jim has a unique combination of expertise, ranging from enterprise sales to SaaS business models,” said Sacha Labourey, CloudBees CEO. “Beyond that, he genuinely understands the needs of software developers and has the depth required to go after the nascent PaaS market. We’re delighted to have him aboard for the next phase of this adventure.”
The CloudBees platform, the only develop-to-deploy PaaS for Java, serves more than 4,500 customers. It provides everything developers need to quickly and easily develop and deploy applications in the cloud — without having to purchase, configure and maintain hardware, and without having to program applications for a specific underlying infrastructure service (IaaS).
“I’m excited to join such an accomplished team that has so quickly established itself as a leading player in the PaaS market,” said Jim McLoughlin, CloudBees VP of Sales. “I was drawn to CloudBees’ innovative develop-to-deploy vision with DEV@cloud and RUN@cloud, their offerings for both public and private clouds, and their strong open source roots with Jenkins. The company has great potential going forward and I’m excited to be a part of it.”
